Italy's Republic celebration day
Italy’s Republic celebration day is celebrated on June the 2nd: the birth of the modern nation in a similar way to the French 14th of July and the American 4th of July.
The official ceremonial of the celebration in Rome provides for the solemn raising of the flag at the Altare della Patria and the homage to the Unknown Soldier with the deposition of a laurel wreath by the President of the Republic in the presence of the highest offices of the State: the President of the Senate, the President of the Chamber, the President of the Council of Ministers, the President of the Constitutional Court, the Minister of Defence and the Chief of Defence.
After the performance of the national anthem: Hymn by Mameli, the “Frecce Tricolori“, National Aerobatic Team, cross the skies of Rome.
The ceremony of Italy’s Republic celebration day ends in the afternoon with the opening to the public of the gardens of the Quirinale palace, seat of the Presidency of the Italian Republic.
